Creating a server

I'd like to know if you need to have a fix IP to create a CoD2 server, and if the port you are
gonna use for it (28960) needs to be opened manually...

I don't understand a lot about networks, so I'm needing help...

I also would like to know if you have to configure your IP/port in the config_mp.cfg file by
cvars.

Good i was looking for a forum like this ok so im looking for a new rig i already have a graphics card from my old rig which is the nVidia geforce 8500 gt (compatible with DirectX 10) what else shouls i get with this i.e soundcard RAM Proccesor also im torn between XP and Vista, vista can be good for gaming if done properly although it does need more resource then XP help is needed lol if your rig is pretty good please send me you rig set up or post it here go ...

Ok so what i mean by are bullets enough is that when facing down an entire armoured division are bullets enough to stop a whole army of angry house's (most of you wont get that joke dont worry) so yeah is a javalin from 300 yards going to pentrate a zbd2000 oh and trust me guys there is going to be whole armoured divisions with 150 odd players per side there is finaly chance to get that big battle that you've always wanted on a pc without having to join the army and having to put your balls on ...

Im still on debate on if this game is gunna be fun or not two reason 1. you start the game up with all your buddys sort out tactics ect, and bam ... your just about to start killin things and its been 2 hours allready and u have to go 2. which IMO if u dont have alot of free time say in the days your not going to get much play time apart from gearin up and moving out. so i think as ive read all the info u can on the game , that its just not gunna work the the gamers that want ...
